Cab
Work in style and comfort.

Our 5G speciality tractors may be compact, but that doesn’t mean they’re cramped.
Even the narrow cab on the 5GF and 5GV is surprisingly roomy – and the 5GH has a wider ’compact’ cab that’s even more spacious.
Both cab versions are designed to keep operators fresh and focused from dawn to dusk. The fixed dash and controls ensure intuitive operation and everything is positioned just where you need it.

Full transparency
The frameless glass doors allow easy and safe entrance or exit through handrails and wide opening doors. The fully openable front window enables partial or full fresh air flow into the cab and the adjustable sun visor provides 5° more forward visibility for working with loaders. Better visibility to the side and rear is ensured through curved rear corner windows, a wide opening rear window and the “C” posts positioned in the middle.

Breathe freely
Improved cab sealing provides a quiet pressurised cab with an increased efficiency of the heating and cooling systems. The cab pressurisation of max. 1mb minimises the amount of dust entering the cab.

Peace
The four silent block cab mountings ensure a quiet, gentle ride – all day long.

In good hands
With the optional tilt-and-telescope steering wheel, finding the perfect position takes a matter of seconds.
Open for everything.

Of course, you may not need a cab at all! In that case, the Open Operator Station 5G Speciality is for you. The spacious platform is not only great value – it’s convenient and comfortable too. Access to the uncluttered platform is easy from either side. All the controls are right where you need them – easy to reach, yet never in the way. The OOS gives you a clear view of what’s ahead and a clear view to the drawbar too. And the two-post ROPS folds and tucks away for low-clearance areas.
Controls
Controls

The clear, logical controls are easy to use and their uncluttered layout enables intuitive operation.
The 5G Specialty series features a 2-lever gearshift with mostly mechanical controls, including the SCVs, reverser, hitch control and PTO. Some electronics are available as options – for instance for the MFWD, DIFF or 3-point hitch.

Grouped range and gear lever
The gear and range lever are located together on the right hand side of the drivers seat to provide single hand shifting and a change in direction at the same time with the left hand reverser.

Multifunction blinker lever
The new multifunction lever contains the indicator, road lighting and horn functions and provides easy use while driving day or night.

PTO
All the yellow PTO controls, engagement (A), speed selection (B), and engine speed or ground drive PTO selection (C) are located in the left hand console and allow PTO speed changes without leaving the cab.

SCV’s, rockshaft and hitch controls
The SCV control levers are located together with the rockshaft controls in the right hand console. Right next to the operators seat the mechanical hitch controls are easily accessible. The optional electronic hitch control unit is placed in the front of the right hand console close to the quick raise lower button to allow easy adjustments.

B post controls
All the major work lights, beacon light and wiper switches are located in the right hand B post within easy reach and are backlit for easy identification while working at night.
Engine
Proven performance: the PowerTech M 4.5 l diesel.

Like everything else on the new 5G Specialty Series, the legendary PowerTech M 4.5 l diesel is purpose-built for outstanding reliability and durability.
It’s easy to service, runs for 500 hours between oil changes and with its Tier III emissions rating and new features, it's more efficient than ever before.
When the going gets tough …
Next time heavy duty work slows your engine down, relax! The PowerTech M delivers constant power across a range of 500 rpm and the maximum torque is up to 375 Nm (Model 5100GF/GV). With a reserve of up to 30%, you’ll have all the pulling power you need.
TIER III emission rating
The new PowerTech M engines meet TIER III emissions regulations using mechanical controls for optimal performance. The mechanical injection system generates high injection pressures to improve combustion efficiency and satisfy customers demand for a powerful, fuel efficient tractor.

Turbocharger
All 5GH/GF/GV Series tractors feature a new turbocharger to increase both engine power and torque. All engines have a high exhaust gas velocity in their short exhaust manifold system and achieve the best performance with a single channel turbocharger.

Charge air cooler
The charge air cooler lowers the air intake temperatures by between 40% to 50% to provide denser air with more oxygen to the cylinder for cleaner more efficient combustion.

Proven John Deere piston spray cooling, wet cylinder liners, closed cooling and viscous fan systems equals maximum performance, reliability and lifetime value retention.
Cool!
Meeting emissions regulations with high quality performance requires a very efficient cooling system. The 5G Specialty series with its PowerTech M engines, efficiently achieve this goal where excellent heat dissipation promotes an optimised and complete combustion.

Positive cooling
The temperature of the air passing through the radiator regulates the variable viscous fan drive speed. During heavy field work at low ambient temperatures, the slower the running viscous fan drive allows additional usable power for higher field performance and saves fuel on longer working days in the fields.
Engine hood louvers
The engine hood has been redesigned to now include two top louvers and two side louvers. The two top louvers improve air flow into the cooling package while the two on the side quickly allow hot air to exit from the engine compartment.
Easy radiator access
The single piece hood opens for easy access to the super fine screens that protect the radiator. For fast and easy cleaning they can be pulled out to ensure a clean, smoothly running radiator even during dusty conditions.

Hydraulics
Lift power to spare

The proven open center hydraulic system provides a simple and reliable system that produces ample hydraulic performance. For even greater reliability and durability, it now uses flat face fittings and revised pipe routings.
- Engine driven tandem gear pump - one pump is dedicated to the steering and braking system while the second is devoted to the SCV and rockshaft for uninterrupted steering or hitch movement during simultaneous use
- Optional high flow pump - up to 59,6l/min to the rock shaft and SCV’s
- Optional third hydraulic pump provides in total 104 l/min: 20 l/min of flow are directly for the rockshaft, leaving the 60 l/min to SCVs for applications demanding high hydraulic flow and 24 l/min for the steering and lubrication circuit.
Mid mounted couplers
The mid mounted couplers are designed to increase the flexibility of the hydraulic system for orchard and vineyard customers. This option is only available with four rear SCV’s and one flow divider. The mid mounted couplers consist of two double acting and one single acting SCV with a free pressure return line.

SCV Options
The 5G Specialty series offers up to 4 SCV’s with an improved hydraulic system that uses flat face fittings and revised pipe routings for greater reliability and durability.
